Both are taught by physiotherapists. The difference is in how the class is shaped around you.
Reformer Pilates is a group class where everyone moves through the same routine together, with options to make each exercise easier or harder. It’s suitable for beginners through to experienced movers, and you can book straight in.
Clinical Pilates starts with a one-on-one consult with a Brisbane Physiotherapy & Podiatry physiotherapist at our Ascot clinic (next door to Slow Burn). Your physio builds a program around your body and goals, which you then work through in a small, supervised class. Every 12 weeks, we’ll review your progress and update your program as you get stronger. It’s ideal if you’re managing an injury, ongoing pain or a health condition, or recovering from surgery. The initial and follow-up consults are charged separately.

Not for Reformer classes. You can book straight in, whatever your experience. Just let your instructor know about any injuries or conditions before class, and they’ll adjust things for you.
For Clinical Pilates, you’ll start with a one-on-one consult with a Brisbane Physiotherapy & Podiatry physiotherapist, so we can design a program around you.

Yes. Every intro offer, class pack and membership can be used for both Reformer and Clinical Pilates classes.
Clinical Pilates also requires an initial assessment before your first class, then a program review every 12 weeks. These are charged separately at Brisbane Physiotherapy and Podiatry’s standard initial and follow-up consultation fees.

Every instructor is a physiotherapist, and they’ll offer options throughout class to modify or progress each exercise, making it easier or more challenging so you can work at the right level.
Reformer classes follow a set program in a small group, which keeps every class flowing, with plenty of attention for everyone in the room. Because of this, they aren’t suited to complex injuries or conditions that need highly individualised or ongoing one-on-one modifications.
For a program built around you, Clinical Pilates is the way to go.

All equipment is provided. Bring a water bottle and a pair of grip socks. Grip socks are required on the reformer for safety and hygiene. If you don’t have any, you can buy a pair at the studio.
Wear comfortable, fitted activewear that lets you move freely. Loose clothing can catch on the springs.
For your first class, please arrive 10 minutes early so we can show you around and set you up on the reformer. For safety, first-timers who arrive late may not be able to join the class.
There is storage for small personal effects (e.g., wallet, phone, keys) but not for large items.
Children and pets are not permitted in the studio.

Waitlists: If a class is full, join the waitlist. If a spot opens up, you’ll be automatically booked in and notified. Waitlist bookings close 30 minutes before class.
Cancellations: If you can’t make it, just cancel at least 6 hours before class. Late cancellations and no-shows will forfeit the class from your pack or membership.
